At the movie house

Prim and I once again met up with our friends, Hilary and Kendra, but instead of a leisurely stroll around Orange County, we headed to the movies.  And what did we see?, you ask.  The Hunger Games.

Sidenote:  Prim the Elf is not named after Prim, Katniss' sister in The Hunger Games.  When Prim the Elf came in to our family and I chose her name, it was way back before I had read the book or seen a movie trailer, back when I thought that The Hunger Games had something to do with food.

Hilary, Kendra, Prim, and I had the movie theatre entirely to ourselves.

And when I say entirely to ourselves, I mean it was really, really empty.

Can you even see Prim in this sea of seats?

I have no idea who Prim is watching on the big screen here.  It certainly isn't anyone from District 12.

The Hunger Games might not have anything to do with food (or does it....?), but even elves like to enjoy a snack at the movies.

Even if the snack is twice the size of the elf.

High Tea

Last weekend, I threw a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law.  It was one big girly tea party.

Even Prim had her own elf-sized tea cup.

Proper ladies drink their tea with their pinky finger up, Prim.

Oh wait.  You don't have fingers.

And proper ladies don't steal the bride's tiara, Prim.

She's obviously not ready to have high tea with the Queen.

Cadbury Bunny Auditions

On Easter Sunday, everyone in Prim's immediate and extended family once again gathered at my parent's house for an egg hunt and family feast. The dogs were there, of course, dressed for the occassion.  You see, Prim and the three dogs were trying their best to be the next Cadbury Bunny.  Remember that commercial with the pig and the lion and the cat wearing bunny ears and auditioning to be the next Cadbury bunny?  I think it has aired every year since 1993.  This year's contestants are, in no particular order:

Chubby Cheeks Sammy:

Eagle, the biggest wuss with the most ferocious teeth:

And Suki Sue, who was at first reluctant to wear bunny ears until Prim convinced her that it was all the rage these days:

And of course, Prim:

Since there can be only one Cadbury bunny, and it certainly isn't any of the creatures featured above, Prim would like to wish you a happy Easter, anyway.

P.S. Sam is a licensed and official Easter Basket Inspector.  Keep him in mind next year if you need to make sure that your baskets are up to code.

Vitamin D

Santa's elves don't exactly have the reputation of being tan.  In fact, they often boast skin as pale as the snow in the North Pole.

Prim, now a California resident, decided that she'd better get her tan on before summer.  This would ensure a few things.  1) Prim would have that nice, sun kissed glow come bathing suit season, 2) she would get a good dose of vitamin D, which she is in dire need of because, you might have noticed lately, she hasn't been getting out much, and 3) she'd be better prepared for her upcoming audition to join the cast of Jersey Shore.

So, off to the tanning salon we went.  Prim put on her protective eyewear,

got nice and comfortable,

and soaked up a good six minutes worth of sun.

By leaving on her leggings, skirt, and sweater, though, Prim's guaranteed herself some wicked tan lines.
